The Australian wave, subjected to mortar fire, continues its irresistible movement...

Little by little, the effect of the Japanese mortars was felt by the enemy assault troops who could no longer recover their initial momentum.

the Australian artillery managed to suppress one of these cursed mortars but the howitzer was brought on the ridge and took over.

the Japanese advanced lines are also out of breath and no longer respond to fire.

To win the decision, a 25Pdr is brought to the front line to shoot at the defenders of the ridge.

The battle ended without either side having been able to really regain morale.

the japanese fire support on the ridge dominated the battle until the end.

the late arrival of the 25Pdr was going to make the difference... but too late...
